G'day Matt,

how do you do the baseband recording scheduling in SDR# actually?
Do you have to pre-program the desired Orbit times manually or is it somewhat automized via a satellite tracker?

I think SDR# has doppler correction possibility when linked to Orbitron tracker, if I remember correctly.
Would be nice if not only doppler control would be possible, but also recording (e.g when sat above certain elevation) somehow?

Habe grade ein LRPT update von "Happysat" gefunden :

"Commissioning test phase ends on 09.11.2014.
LRPT transmission will be declared operational on 10.11.2014.
The following channels will be available:

Channel 1 (0.5 0.7 µm; APID64), channel 2 (0,7 1,1 µm; APID65), channel 5 (10,5 µm; APID68)."

Es sollte aber möglich sein aus den 2 VIS Kanälen auch ein RGB Bild zu erzeugen. Wenn alles klappt ist der Meteor dann für Day & Night nutzbar.

Ich habe es gerade versucht. auch mit Zwei Kanälen bekommt man ein schönes Bild.


Das Bild von heute kann ich nicht hoch laden: Server beschwert sich....

Ich habe noch festgestellt, das sich die Bildqualität verbessert, wenn ich den AGC Referenzwert von 500m auf 900m erhöhe.Wenigstens bei mir.

Hier noch mal die Konsolen Befehle, wenn man das meteor.py Script zeitgesteuert starten will. Wichtig ist halt , das das Scrip nach /usr/bin/ oder /usr/local/bin kopiert wurde.
Man kann die Zeilen hier einfach markieren, kopieren und in ein Terminal einfügen.

echo 'DISPLAY=:0 xterm meteor_qpsk_rx_rtl.py' | at 12:10
echo 'killall python' | at 10:32

Natürlich die richtigen AOS LOS Zeiten angeben.
Wichtig ! at akzeptiert nur Stunden und Minuten. Keine Sekunden.

Ja, ich habe Baseband -Recorder funktioniert, aber es ist ein bisschen " Hit & Miss " . Ich haved , die Termine und Zeiten manuell eingeben, und hoffe, ich habe nicht einen Tippfehler gemacht . Manchmal kann ich die Daten zu entschlüsseln und ein Bild machen . Aber es ist , es ist sehr frustrierend, wenn nichts herauskommt Das Nicht Decodierung geschieht sowohl automatische als auch manuelle Aufnahmen . Ich denke, die AGC in der RTL -SDR wird zu aggressiv, und 8 Bit . Ich hoffe auf eine BladeRF bald . Und eine bessere gefiltert Vorverstärker wird auch helfen.

Ich benutze SatPC32 für die Spurhaltung. Zur Steuerung der Rotatoren und die Dopplar . Auch SatPC32 verfügt über eine automatische Einstellung , so dass es zu dem aktuellen Satelliten , die ist zu wechseln, starten Rotatoren und ändern Sie die Frequenz in SDR # .

Ich kann sowohl ein 130kHz wav -Datei und roh in meine Dropbox legen , ob jemand mit dem ausgefallenen ein zu spielen, wenn sie wollen will .

Yes I have baseband recorder working but it's a bit "hit & miss". I haved to manually type the dates and times, and hope I haven't made a typo. Sometimes I can decode the data and make a picture. But it's it's very frustrating when nothing comes out This non decoding is happening in both auto and manual recordings. I think the AGC in the RTL-SDR is being to aggressive, and 8 bit. I hope to have a BladeRF soon. And a better filtered pre-amp will help too.

I use SatPC32 for the tracking. To control the rotators and the Dopplar. Also SatPC32 has an auto setting so it will switch to the current satellite that is up, start rotators and change the frequency in SDR#.

I can put both a 130KHz wav file and raw in my DropBox if anyone wants to play with the failed one if they want.

I hope google doesn't make this to messy!

Hi Matt,

the non-decoding is not necessarily a problem of the RTL SDR setup.

The Meteor M2 LRPT payload has crashed several times during the commissioning period. It was either sending garblish modulation or correct modulation, but with empty fill packets inside.

So what you might have seen is just a crashed LRPT processor on board of the Meteor spacecraft.

I have ordered the new Airspy which hopefully is a great SDR (12bit and high dynamic range) for both LRPT and HRPT and lot of other digital stuff.

Letzte Nacht war die erste Decodier ich konnten mehr als eine Woche zu extrahieren in ! Und nur die visuellen Sensoren aktiv waren, so habe ich ein paar schöne schwarze Bilder . Ich mag zu Kopie von horizont zu horizont haben, aber ich glaube, ich habe zu viel Gewinn für die RTL -SDR ( Pre-Amp und 12 ele X - Yagi ) . Ich plane auch auf die Erschließung der IF meiner PCR -2500 , um zu sehen , ob das funktioniert besser.

Ich habe auf " Baseband Recorder", um die 54E aufzeichnen und 2W passiert heute , während ich unterwegs bin (nice späten Frühlingstag, sonnigen 28º ). Wenn ich irgendwelche Bilder werde ich später schreiben.

Last night was the first decode I have been able to extract in over a week! And only the visual sensors were active, so I got some nice black pictures. I like to have copy from horizon to horizon but I think I have to much gain for the RTL-SDR (pre-amp and 12 ele X-Yagi). I also plan on tapping the IF of my PCR-2500 to see if that works any better.

I have set "Baseband Recorded" to record the 54E and 2W passes today while I am out (nice late Spring day, sunny 28º ). If I get any pictures I'll post later on.
